EV Charger Rebates in Massachusetts

Eligible Massachusetts customers may qualify for utility rebates that help offset EV charger wiring, panel upgrades, or charger costs. Eversource and National Grid have different requirements, rebate amounts, and deadlines.

For Eversource customers, eligible work and rebate applications must be submitted by November 1, 2026 to receive consideration under the current program terms. National Grid lists December 10, 2026 as its 2026 application deadline.

First Generation can provide supporting documentation for your application, including an itemized paid invoice, permit documentation when applicable, charger specifications, and contractor information. Customers should confirm eligibility, deadlines, and submission requirements directly with their utility provider. Rebate availability and program terms may change.

Why Choose First Generation for EV Charger Installation

An EV charger needs to be connected to the electrical system correctly to support safe, reliable charging. First Generation approaches each project by reviewing the property’s current electrical setup, the charger requirements, and the proposed installation location.

Our broader experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, construction, and remodeling also helps us coordinate projects that involve more than one system. If your EV charger installation requires a panel upgrade, new wiring, or other electrical work, we can help identify the related requirements and recommend a practical solution.

Understanding EV Charging Options

Electric vehicles can be charged using different types of equipment. The best option depends on your vehicle, driving habits, available power, and property.

Level 1 Charging

Level 1 charging typically uses a standard 120-volt outlet. It can be useful for some drivers, but charging may take longer than with a dedicated Level 2 system.

Level 2 Charging

Level 2 chargers use a 240-volt connection and generally provide faster charging. Many homeowners choose Level 2 charging because it can add more usable range during the time a vehicle is parked.

A Level 2 installation may require a dedicated circuit, panel review, or electrical service upgrade. Not every property requires the same work, so the system should be evaluated before installation.

Commercial Charging

Commercial EV charging projects may involve different equipment, multiple charging stations, or greater electrical capacity. First Generation can review qualifying commercial projects and help determine the electrical scope.
